General Build:
Rozene isn't too physically imposing, being only 4 feet long, 3 feet tall at the shoulder, and weighing a slim 70 lbs, she's petite even for her species. However, she has learned to develop her strengths so that even for a small wolf she is a powerful warrior. Although she hates violence, she is still prepared for it at any moment. Rozene is very muscular and lean, and has unparalleled speed and accuracy in battle to make up for her lack of physical strength in comparison to other wolves.
Markings/Birthmarks/Scars:
Rozene was born with one very prominent marking, the dark purple diamond on her forehead. The tip of the diamond lies just between her eyes and is known as her "Third Eye" to all those who know her well enough. Apparently her Third Eye is what enables her to use her Mind powers, although this is purely speculation. All Roz knows is that occasionally the diamond will emit a soft glow when she uses her powers.
Other markings Roz has are around her eyes: four dark purple circles and two feather-like purple markings at the tip of her eye. It is said that these markings allow her to see the truth, but again this is purely rumor and speculation. Roz cannot see the truth with the naked eye, but she is fairly decent at finding out if someone is lying or not.
A dark purple crescent moon sits on her left hindquarter, and adjacent to the moon is a star-shaped scar that Roz received many years ago when she was alpha female of a now long-dead pack. It is ironic that she has such a scar, especially in such a place that almost makes it look like another one of her markings. This scar inspired the name for her new pack, Oota Dabun.
Coloration:
Rozene has a beautiful, pure, chocolate brown pelt. The tip of her tail is an indigo color, and the tips of her ears, which are swooped back typically, are white. Rozene's eyes are "sea sky" blue. Rose's eyes also reflect her emotions almost perfectly. When she's angry or upset, her blue eyes seem to become blue flames. When she's calm or happy her eyes are like a peaceful ocean.
Personality:
Just like a rose, Rozene has many dimensions to her. She is soft, sweet, and charming on one hand, but is also a powerful warrior on the other.
Soft Rose
Rozene is kind, caring, considerate, and full of positive energy. However, she is also a wise and careful leader. Rozene has had much leadership experience in her 70 some years and she knows how to run a pack efficiently. She cares very deeply for the ones she loves and will not hesitate to lay down her life for the sake of those she knows and cherishes.
Quiet Rose
Rozene doesn't like using her element, and in fact doesn't tell any of her packmembers what her abilities are, save for her most trusted members in her Inner Circle. This is mostly because Rozene feels it's a violation of someone's privacy to rifle around in their mind and force them to do things against their will. Not to mention her powers have brought her nothing but sadness and pain throughout the years. She knows that her power is exceptionally rare as she's never met another Mind user before, but she makes use of her power reluctantly nonetheless. As a result, all kinds of rumors spread around the pack as to what kind of power she possesses. Rozene makes no move to correct, oppose, or confirm these rumors.
Bloody Rose
Rozene, despite her outward appearance, is a fierce and powerful warrior when time calls for it. She has become a master at blending the use of her element with a unique fighting style all of her own. Instead of training in strength and endurance she focuses on speed and agility due to her small frame. She hates violence and will do everything in her power to avoid it, but force her into a fight and you may live to regret it.
History:
//Chapter One: Mindfall
Rozene was born in a litter of four and was easily the smallest of her much larger siblings. Her Mother was a Cuulu, while her Father was a Vinei, a rare but possible couple. Rozene had three brothers: Chusi, Chunta, and Makya. Rozene was always called the "runt" by her siblings growing up, Makya being almost four times her size and Chusi and Chunta being about twice her size. Rozene was neglected as a child, as her parents believed Makya to be the only pup with elemental powers since he had such incredible physical strength. Rozene, on the other hand, wasn't even considered a candidate.
Often Rozene would go hungry due to her brothers overpowering her and taking prey for themselves. Slowly Rozene began to starve, growing weaker and weaker. Her parents didn't see any potential in her and it was thought that she would whither away and die. Until of course, Rozene decided to take matters into her own hands. She ran away from home, not knowing whether she would survive or not. Food was scarce, only the occasional carrion came her way. The mountains weren't an ideal place for a young pup to be lost.
//Chapter Two: Mind's Eye
Roz didn't know if her parents were even looking for her or not, and she didn't care. She had been living on her own for quite some time, barely surviving and always starving. It was around this time though that she ran into a male Musk Deer that was bigger than her and stronger her in every aspect. Before she knew what was happening its powerful fangs were embedded in her neck, and she collapsed to the ground due to blood loss. Her vision began to blur and her struggling became softer and softer as more Musk Deer gathered and she felt more powerful fangs embed themselves in her body, splitting her sides with pain. The situation seemed futile, and she kept repeating over and over in her head:
Get away from me! Leave me alone! Stop hurting me!
If a few more minutes had passed she would have died on the spot, but it was then that a blinding purple light shot from the diamond-shaped birthmark on her forehead. Then the pain stopped as one of the Musk Deer withdrew its fangs from her body and stood before her, its eyes glazed over. What was this? Why did he stop? Were they leaving her for dead now? No, that didn't make sense...
Just go away! she roared in her mind.
Without hesitation the deer bolted off into the mountains at top speed, disappearing in an instant from her view. The few remaining deer leaped away from Roz in confusion, their fangs red with her blood.
Wait, I can hear their voices. They're frightened of me because of what I did to their leader. But that couldn't have been me, could it?
Roz got to her feet, blood falling from her sides but the diamond on her forehead still glowing. The remaining deer took one look at the strange purple light coming from her forehead and fled, spooked by everything that had just happened. Roz didn't have enough blood left in her anyway.
//Chapter Three: Power of the Mind
After what happened, Roz was able to survive on her own without much trouble. She developed her powers through practice and her own experimentation, no one ever told her how to use her abilities after all. Roz grew up without her brothers or her parents and soon became a force to be reckoned with. It didn't take long for her to find a pack of Cuulu like herself, in which the Alpha Male instantly chose her as his mate, the Alpha Female. Her mate's name was Yiska, and he was the center of her world. Roz took on a lot of power and leadership as Alpha Female, and in this way learned the ropes of ruling a pack. Yiska was the only person who knew about her powers in the pack, however.
Roz was very happy during this time in her life, and she flourished into adulthood alongside her mate, who was a Cuulu with power over the element of earth. But good things couldn't last forever, and soon their pack began to fall apart.
//Chapter Four: Mind's Scar
During a war against a very hostile enemy pack, Roz was forced to use her power to save Yiska's life. Her packmembers witnessed this, and rumor spread quickly about her power. Roz was distraught, especially when her subjects began to distrust her. A paranoia spread quickly across the pack, and they began to believe that she had been controlling them the whole time with her "mind control" abilities to make them do her bidding. This was entirely untrue, but only days later there was a revolt in the pack to drive Rozene out, something almost unheard of in pack society.
Yiska stood by Rozene's side, guarding her with his life, not wanting to be separated from her, as his pack would not allow him to go with her. In a final skirmish, Yiska was killed before Rozene's eyes and she was driven out of the pack's territory, left to morn her loss in solitude. Roz never told anyone about her power after that.
//Chapter Five: New Mind
During this time in exile, Roz developed her fighting skills and neglected her Mind abilities in her anger and sadness. Today she is a much stronger wolf because of her past. However, the scars of Yiska's death still remain... she hasn't used her Mind power since that day. And she doesn't plan on it, preferring to rely on physical strength and abilities instead. Roz has learned to loathe and despise violence since as well, trying to avoid a fight if at all possible.

-Other Pack Info-
No ranks are ever considered above others, hence why there are no Omegas, Betas, etc. in Rozene's pack. While Roz is the leader of the pack she listens to everyone's input and advice before she makes a final decision. Warriors are not "better" than scouts or watchers either. This being said, the "head" of each group does have control over that group (ex: head warrior has control over warriors). But they also consider the opinion of their packmembers as well.
-Warriors and Hunters-
Warriors are the fierce fighters ready to defend the pack at all costs. As much as Rozene hates violence, having fighters in her pack is only practical in case a hostile pack threatens them. Hunters seek out food for the pack and bring back prey to feed the whole pack. Hunters are also in charge of dividing up the prey equally among all the members (except for younger pups who won't eat as much). This is an important job in Oota Dabun since everyone must receive an equal share. There is no order to feeding like there is in typical packs. The jobs of warrior and hunter tend to overlap since more often than not there won't be any need for warriors to fight against another pack. When this happens the warriors help with the hunting, especially during the winter months when food is scarce. During times of starvation the division of equal food must be done much faster as well since wolves will be hungrier and less patient, requiring more paws to work with. Head Warriors and Head Hunters are promoted by a show of loyalty, skill, and restraint in using their fighting power. Rozene will then promote them to Head Hunter or Warrior accordingly. One cannot apply to be Head Hunter or Warrior. The Heads coordinate all of the goings-on in the Hunter and Warrior community (hunting parties, fighting forces, etc.) There can be at most two head warriors and two head hunters at a time, however typically there is only one. Together the Head Warrior and Hunter dominate the Eternal Circle. Warriors and Hunters are typically Saberwolves, Hellhounds, etc. (this isn't required however)
-Scouts and Watchers-
Watchers and Scouts, like Warriors and Hunters, have jobs that tend to overlap on occasion. Scouts explore new territories and will frequently go out on long term "missions" to seek out prey in new areas farther away from the pack's territories. They are experts in scent tracking since there will be many new scents in new territories. Watchers guard the home turf from enemies, but when hostilities are low with other packs and there aren't too many potential threats they can also join Scouts on missions since they can be dangerous and an extra hand never hurts. Scouts are typically smaller breeds of wolf or even fox since sometimes they are assigned to spy missions in enemy territory. Watchers are diverse in their species (again, you don't have to be a fox or small canine to be a scout). Head Scouts and Watchers function and are promoted in the same fashion as Head Warriors and Hunters. They also have similar duties to Head Warriors and Hunters, coordinating scouting parties and organizing who will guard what area of the territory. However, there can only be one Head Scout and one Head Watcher at a time, with few exceptions. Together, the Heads dominate the Faithful Circle. They must show loyalty, skill, and restraint.
-Healers-
Healers, as the name suggests, ensure the well-being of the pack. They must have adequate knowledge of healing herbs and other forms of plants to be able to treat wounds and illnesses in the pack. Healers do not fight in battle no matter what, although fighters and hunters may accompany them when they need to collect herbs in unfamiliar or enemy territory. Healers MUST a Cuulu or a Kitsune, and must have a belief in some form of Cuulu god.
The Starseer is the leader of the Healers, similar to a Head Hunter and Warrior in terms of leadership and power. However, a Starseer is also far above Head Warriors and Head Hunters. Starseers are the highly trusted and respected Healers that show devotion to the gods, and pray to the gods and seek their aid on behalf of the pack. They read the stars and interpret the signs of the earth. A Starseer is also Rozene's most trusted adviser next to her Startrusted. They abandon most of their duties in healing the pack and instead devote their lives to the gods. They are mysterious and somewhat terrifying, but are also very kindhearted and open. They don't communicate with other wolves very often. There is only one Starseer at a time, with NO exceptions. Starseers cannot be replaced once appointed, and they cannot resign from their post until they die. Starseers are fairly detached from the rest of the Healers and for the most part don't provide as much leadership as the Heads of the Faithful and Eternal Circle do. Healers take most of their orders from the Startrusted or the Head Scouts and Warriors instead. Typically Starseers are Kitsune and occasionally Cuulu.
-Startrusted-
The Startrusted is Rozene's right paw that manages much of the pack and ensures its safety, and is also the next in line to the leadership of Oota Dabun after Roz's passing. The Startrusted acts as a link between all of the professions within the pack and also gives advice to the Heads of each profession (warrior, hunter, etc.). The Startrusted also provides Rozene with advice and input frequently as he/she is an extension of Roz and spends a great deal of time among the pack to gather information and check on the pack's status. A Startrusted is selected from any profession except for Healer, as the Startrusted must also be a powerful fighter and a leader in times of war and trouble. Like the role of the Starseer, the Startrusted are very well respected and looked up to by the whole of the pack.
-Elders, Young Pups, and New Stars-
Young pups are pups that aren't yet old enough to work as a New Star and train under a mentor. They stay beside their Mothers for the most part (who are exempted from their regular duties until their pups become New Stars).
New Stars are the "apprentices" of Oota Dabun. They begin their training at six moons and choose a profession to pursue, be it Warrior, Scout, Watcher, Healer or Hunter. A mentor is chosen by Rozene to guide the New Star from that profession, and after they have trained long enough and developed into a full member of the pack they become members of the Faithful Circle or the Eternal Circle. No one from the Inner Circle trains New Stars, except for under very rare circumstances. Heads of a profession sometimes train New Stars if they express an interest to training the New Star to Rozene.
Elders are wolves that have either received crippling injuries or are too old to serve Rozene without endangering their lives. Elders spend their days being attended to by the Healers, Young Pups, and New Stars. They no longer fight or hunt, instead remaining in the camp at all times.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inner Circle: Rozene's most trusted advisers, consisting of herself, the Starseer, and the Startrusted.
Faithful Circle: Consists of those who don't tend to lean towards fighting and support the pack in other ways instead. Called faithful because often the belief in the gods is particularly strong in this circle.
Eternal Circle: The fighting force of the pack, they are the strongest warriors. Called Eternal because the warriors and hunters allow the pack to survive and remain "eternal".
The Turning Circle: The beginning and end of the pack, the young and the old. Called turning because like a circle, life is constantly turning and moving, ending and beginning again.
-Pack Info-
Pack Name: Oota Dabun, a.k.a "Pack of the Day Star"
Pack Alignment: Chaotic good
Pack Beliefs: Rozene is a fair and just leader and has few beliefs that are too restrictive to future members.
- The cornerstone belief of Oota Dabun is that violence against other wolves should only be used if absolutely necessary. Rozene is somewhat of a pacifist, and tries to avoid bloodshed as it could bring pain to her packmates. Violence within the pack is disallowed as well.
- All members are to be treated equally. Rozene doesn't tolerate poor treatment of weaker or younger members of the pack, and regardless of size or power every wolf is equal in her view.
- The way to advance in the pack is NEVER through fighting a higher up member. Rozene assigns roles in the pack and will never assign a higher up rank to a new member, instead waiting and observing her members to see if they are deserving of the rank. In this way she assures everyone receives the rank that fits them best. Rozene's judgement is final and absolute, and she will not tolerate quarrels in the pack about rank. Rozene doesn't change her mind very often and will usually differ to her more loyal members who have been with her longer over new members, however she does recognize talent and potential.
- Rozene is the final decision maker of the pack. Any important decisions fall to her unless she specifies that her trusted officials in the Inner Circle should handle the issue instead, which happens fairly often.
- Punishment for disobeying any of the peaceful beliefs of Rozene or trying to cause trouble will result in warnings and then exile from the pack. However you'd have to be a pretty big rule breaker to get Rozene to kick you out.
- Violence is never tolerated in the pack and violent and aggressive behavior towards other packs won't be tolerated either.
Starseers are fairly detached from the rest of the Healers and for the most part don't provide as much leadership as the Heads of the Faithful and Eternal Circle do. Healers take most of their orders from the Startrusted or the Head Scouts and Warriors instead. Typically Starseers are Kitsune and occasionally Cuulu.
-Startrusted-
The Startrusted is Rozene's right paw that manages much of the pack and ensures its safety, and is also the next in line to the leadership of Oota Dabun after Roz's passing. The Startrusted acts as a link between all of the professions within the pack and also gives advice to the Heads of each profession (warrior, hunter, etc.). The Startrusted also provides Rozene with advice and input frequently as he/she is an extension of Roz and spends a great deal of time among the pack to gather information and check on the pack's status. A Startrusted is selected from any profession except for Healer, as the Startrusted must also be a powerful fighter and a leader in times of war and trouble. Like the role of the Starseer, the Startrusted are very well respected and looked up to by the whole of the pack.
-Elders, Young Pups, and New Stars-
Young pups are pups that aren't yet old enough to work as a New Star and train under a mentor. They stay beside their Mothers for the most part (who are exempted from their regular duties until their pups become New Stars).
New Stars are the "apprentices" of Oota Dabun. They begin their training at six moons and choose a profession to pursue, be it Warrior, Scout, Watcher, Healer or Hunter. A mentor is chosen by Rozene to guide the New Star from that profession, and after they have trained long enough and developed into a full member of the pack they become members of the Faithful Circle or the Eternal Circle. No one from the Inner Circle trains New Stars, except for under very rare circumstances. Heads of a profession sometimes train New Stars if they express an interest to training the New Star to Rozene.
Elders are wolves that have either received crippling injuries or are too old to serve Rozene without endangering their lives. Elders spend their days being attended to by the Healers, Young Pups, and New Stars. They no longer fight or hunt, instead remaining in the camp at all times.
Inner Circle: Rozene's most trusted advisers, consisting of herself, the Starseer, and the Startrusted.
Faithful Circle: Consists of those who don't tend to lean towards fighting and support the pack in other ways instead. Called faithful because often the belief in the gods is particularly strong in this circle.
Eternal Circle: The fighting force of the pack, they are the strongest warriors. Called Eternal because the warriors and hunters allow the pack to survive and remain "eternal".
The Turning Circle: The beginning and end of the pack, the young and the old. Called turning because like a circle, life is constantly turning and moving, ending and beginning again.
